I have just joined. What do I need to do next?

Here is a checklist to help you get started:

1. Create an account and request a membership type using the online membership form.
2. Attend a Wednesday evening social to meet the committee.
3. Your application will be considered at the next committee meeting, held on the first Thursday of each month.
4. Once your membership has been approved, we will contact you and send you an invoice for the relevant fees.
5. Visit the club to collect your clubhouse entry fob.
6. Ask to be added to the club email distribution list and WhatsApp group.
7. Review our Calendar of Events and choose the activities that interest you.

I'm a new member. What activities can I take part in?

Here are a few suggestions to help you settle in:

Wednesday evening socials

We hold a social every Wednesday from 20:00 to 22:30. These evenings are a good opportunity to familiarise yourself with the club's facilities, events and community, meet other members and ask questions.

Recreational sailing

Recreational sails use the club dinghies in the waters close to the club. They usually take place every two weeks during the warmer months, on Wednesday evenings from 18:00 to 20:00.

To helm a dinghy, you must hold an RYA Dinghy Level 2 qualification. Crew members do not need this qualification. If you would like to crew, please arrange this in advance at a social evening or send a message in the club WhatsApp group.

Day sails

Day sails use the club dinghies to visit destinations around Southampton Water. They are usually organised every two weeks during the warmer months, normally on a Saturday morning from around 08:00, although some take place on Sundays. The destination and meeting time will be confirmed nearer the event.

To helm a dinghy, you must hold an RYA Dinghy Level 2 qualification. Crew members do not need this qualification. If you would like to crew, please arrange this in advance at a social evening or send a message in the club WhatsApp group.

Racing

The racing schedule is planned at the start of the season and is open to both dinghies and cruisers. If you would like to crew, please send a message in the club WhatsApp group.
