Training with Southampton Sailing Club

We Currently offer training 'in house' on an as needed basis dependent on numbers interested.

We are currently targeting to run a training course on the below dates:

- 6th and 7th September 2025

This may be RYA Level 1 or RYA Level 2 dependent on interest in each.

Each course will be priced at £90 per course and each course will take two days

We have formed an exciting partnership with the University of Southampton (UoS), who also run training courses from our club.

They are a formal RYA Training Centre, and offer all the relevant sailing and powerboating courses you would expect.

They cater for a variety abilities, whether you be new to stepping aboard a vessel, or a seasoned sailor looking to get your formal qualifications.

For SSC Members wishing to obtain RYA Dinghy Level 1 or 2, the university will offer dinghy courses at the 'Southampton Sport Member' price.

This means the price for 2025 for your Dinghy Level 1 OR Dinghy Level 2 course is £104.50 for each one.

This equates to a substantial saving compared to other providers.

For other courses, the 'Mayflower Member, Sports Pass or Non-Member' price applies.

Note that you must hold a current membership with Southampton Sailing Club at time of attending the course.

RYA Dinghy Level 1 - Start Sailing (This 2 day course runs from 9am to 5pm each day)

- Sat 06 and Sun 07 Sep 2025

RYA Dinghy Level 2 - Basic Skills (This 2 day course runs from 9am to 5pm each day)
