Day Sails Overview

Day sails are organised group trips for members who want to sail beyond the immediate area around the club.

What to expect

• Group sailing trips planned around suitable tides and weather.
• Events may involve dinghies, cruisers or both.
• Plans are confirmed nearer the time through the event page and club communications.
• Safety and conditions will always determine whether an event goes ahead.

Typical destinations

Depending on the event, members may sail to another club, visit a local beach, or explore a creek or anchorage around Southampton Water and the Solent.

Taking part

Dinghy helms should normally hold RYA Dinghy Level 2 or have equivalent experience. Members who would like to crew should arrange this in advance.

Upcoming day sails are listed in the Calendar of Events. Each event page will include the planned meeting time, destination, sign-up information and any specific instructions.

Members should also look out for updates by email and WhatsApp, as plans may change due to weather, tides or safety considerations.
