Published 11:11 on 20 Mar 2026
Good Afternoon Everyone,
As promised in a previous email, please find details regarding membership renewals and 2026 events below:
Membership Renewals
I have just sent out the invoices for your membership renewals.
These have been sent to the email addresses we have on file. If you have not received your invoice, please check your spam folder. If it is not there, please contact me using the email below:
membership@southamptonsailingclub.com
Please do pay these as soon as possible, and if there are any concerns with paying the full amount, then please reach out to me.
Please make sure your invoice reference is on each transfer, as this makes it much easier for me to identify the payments.
Please also double check your addresses on your invoices, and let me know if they need changing.
2026 Events
Our calendar of events is available on the link below. I will also give some more details on each category.
https://www.southamptonsailingclub.com/events
This year for Daysails and Cruiser Rallies, we will be using Forms to sign up for events.
The signup links are listed in each event on our website.
Please do consider signing up in advance. We will also be sending reminders a number of weeks ahead of each event.
Daysails - https://www.southamptonsailingclub.com/event/ssc-daysails
This year, Nick has planned destinations in advance, taking the tides into account.
The main event of the year will be the joint dinghy and cruiser rally to Island Harbour on 11/12 July.
However we have many great trips planned as far as Calshot and Eling.
If you are not part of the 'Dinghies' group on WhatsApp, then reach out to myself or Nick Billington, and one of us will add you in.
Recsails - https://www.southamptonsailingclub.com/event/ssc-recsails
We are continuing our Recreational sailing programme this year, and have planned 8 Rec Sail sessions from May to August.
These will be on appropriate Wednesday evenings, and generally start around 18:00.
Please do take part in these as it's your participation that will keep these sessions going.
Cruiser Rallies - https://www.southamptonsailingclub.com/event/ssc-cruiser-events
We now have four rallies all booked in to Yarmouth, Island Harbour, Bembridge and Bucklers Hard.
If you are a cruiser owner and are not currently part of the 'Cruisers' group on WhatsApp, then reach out to myself or Malcolm Kirk, and one of us will add you in.
Races - https://www.southamptonsailingclub.com/event/ssc-races
Races are now planned for 2026, with the Summer and Autumn series now in the calendar.
We have tried to plan races on various days so that if you cannot attend the weekday races, then there are races available at the weekend.
Socials - https://www.southamptonsailingclub.com/event/socials
We have planned 8 socials across the year for you.
For the start of season social we are planning a 'Crab Drive' followed by Fish and Chips.
We are having two barbeques in the summer, the first after the open day in June, the second will have water-based activities followed by a barbeque in August.
We are planning a skittles night in September.
The Christmas social will be in the same format as previous years, being a quiz and American Buffet.
Other Club Events - https://www.southamptonsailingclub.com/event/ssc-other-club-events
It is worth highlighting the events that I have added into this section.
This covers the events that keep our club running, such as the AGM and the All Members Meeting.
It also covers things like the work parties, of which there will be 4 (one per season).
Please do remember that we are a member-run club, and it's vital to get the support with the work party days.
With all events as above, we will look to communicate a number of weeks in advance by email and WhatsApp, so please do look out for those messages.
If there are any queries with our events programme, then please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thanks
John Eves
