SWSA and Open Events
Southampton sailing club is a member of the Southampton Water Sailing Association (SWSA) which organizes inter-club dinghy races attended by Weston, Netley, Hythe and USSSC Sailing Clubs. This year features the popular SWSA Traveller Series with races hosted by the above clubs and ourselves and an SWSA Evening Series jointly hosted by Weston sailing club and ourselves.
We encourage members to participate in these races as, due to the number of participants, it is an excellent opportunity to race against more boats in your class or handicap and to get a taste of the tactical challenges associated with sailing in such a large fleet. All in all it makes for a very exciting and rewarding day on the water
The Traveller Series races have been incorporated in our weekend race series as they are mostly on days we would already have been on the water.
As most of the Evening Series races hosted by Weston are on weekends which has not been very popular with our members in the past we will leave it up to you whether you want to participate in the whole series or stick to our series.
